🌛 Ford Focus 1.6 Tdci Egr Valve Symptoms
The solenoids may control the vacuum supply to the EGR valve or operate the valve directly. A computer, which is often referred to as the powertrain control module (PCM), operates the solenoids based on input from various sensors. Symptoms of a Bad EGR Valve. When the EGR valve fails, it can cause several noticeable symptoms. Here are the most
Hi Ok if the EGR cooler was leaking then there would be a drop in the coolant level Obvious I cannot see how thick etc the smoke/smog is It sounds like overfuelling due to the symptoms of diesel knock etc It would be worth removing the leak off pipes to clarify if this return valve could be the problems this forces fuel back to the injectors instead of smoothly outthe return to pump Also these

Mondeo mk 3 - EGR Valve blanked - problems since - 3uga. NOx usualy forms at high temperatures and high presures. Geting exhaust gases into the intake means less oxigen in the combustion chamber and lower combustion temperatures, reducing the formatin of NOx. NOx forms at such high temperatures that is bad for engine.
Ford Focus 1.6 TDCi Mk2 - Limp Mode, split in rubber hose / connector. Hi, I'll try and keep this short :-) My Ford Focus 1.6 TDCi Mk2 keeps going in to limp home mode but showing no errors and appears to be OK after turning off and on the engine - but under load (e.g. up a hill) will go back in to limp home mode and kick out a cloud of smoke.
Hi, I have a 2009 Ford Focus 1.8 TDCI with 38,000 miles covered. 3,000 miles ago, at motorway speed of 70mph and having covered 60 miles, a misfire started. It became worse and the Engine Malfunction light came on. The car would only now tick over and not respond to the accelerator. Switch off and on again and the car drove reasonably ok again
Gonna get a large ball bearing and wedge it in pipe and then stuff loads of gungum exhaust sealent in and around it.Seeing as the gasses will have been cooled down a tad by going through the cooler I think it should be o.k.(hopefully)Or I could just bite the bullet and take of the fuel filter and pipes to get at the egr bolts and fit blanking plate and then try to bleed fuel filter.or I
Posted March 31, 2014. Blanking the EGR will not cause the engine to overheat, the EGR operational zone is only at low revs at part throttle, (varies depending on engine) so on full throttle/ higher revs (when the engine produces more power/ more heat) the EGR is closed anyway. An operational EGR (unblanked) will contaminate the inlet (manifold
This type of problem can have a wide range of causes: A failing DPFE sensor. Restricted or clogged EGR tubes. A clogged catalytic converter. Carbon buildup on the EGR temperature sensor. Faulty or lack of vacuum supply to the EGR. Electrical problems with the EGR circuit. Problems with the engine computer.
Ive just got a ford focus 1.6 tdci 2005 which generally runs fine but ive noticed when cruising say on motorway or going up long hills seems to hesitate then kick in and chuck a bit of smoke out every now and again. I had it plugged in at local garage and a code for a sluggish/faulty EGR valve came up.
Actually the injectors are a million times easier than the glow plugs. Depending which engine, mine you have to remove throttle body and egr valve and cooler and millions of other things and drain coolant, Injector are a five minute job. Other 2.0 TDCI ford engines glow plugs are at the back of the engine right down there!! And even worse.
