This was my sixth visit to La Thuile and hopefully i will return next year. The skiing is fantastic and there is a good choice of restaurants both on the mountain and in the village. There is also a good range of accommodation to suit all budgets. This ski resort is excellent value for money and is a lot cheaper than France,Austria and Switzerland.

No queues whatsoever for the lifts and plenty of room on the mountain. La Thuile skiing a bit steeper and more varied than La Rosiere. Beware the tour ops away day to Pila; the coach went to virtually every hotel in Courmayeur going and on the return trip. Didn't get back to La Thuile until well after 8pm.

Resort altitude of 1440m with access to 150km of pistes from 1175-2610m. Two areas to stay in: a modern lift-base resort and an older village. Old La Thuile’s Roman remnants and mining history are still in evidence. Ski lift links to the extensive ski area of the French resort, La Rosière. After a quick toilet break at Fourclaz I took the 19 route past Arnouaz, then the 6.4km long La Nouva (route no 6) down to La Thuile itself. Despite the resort being a good 400m lower than La Rosiere at 1,441m, the pistes in La Thuile were in very good shape, as was the off piste snow.
